"The best kept secret of the Dandenongs" - Washington Irving
The National Folk Festival is Australia’s premier folk festival event – celebrating the world of folk music and arts.
The festival was established in Victoria 1967 and traveled all around Australia for 25 years before settling down in Canberra in 1992.
Hundreds of the world’s best musicians perform daily, rubbing shoulders with festival-goers, in a friendly non-stop flow of entertainment across many fabulous venues – from large indoor all-weather auditoria, such as the Budawang and Coorong to intimate themed venues such as the Bohemian and the Scrumpy.
