The Maes (formerly The Mae Trio) are sisters Maggie (banjo, guitar and vocals) and Elsie Rigby (violin, and vocals). Elsie and Maggie grew up steeped in music playing in their family band and spent their childhood going to music festivals and camps, choir rehearsals and concerts. The Maes bring their unique contemporary twist on folk music with their sophomore album, Take Care Take Cover, awarded Best Folk Roots Album by The Age Music Victoria Award.

Parkville

Belgrave-born folk-pop darlings Parkville got their start busking on the city streets of Melbourne. Liam, Michael and Dylan soon developed their winning formula: a driving Mumford & Sons-style backbone featuring rich three-part vocal harmonies and soaring violin riffs, taking influence from The Beach Boys and Punch Brothers.

Tim Woodz

Folk Festival funny man and Maldon Ministerial award winner (2011). Tim Woodz has supported ex TISM Damien Cowell's Disco Machine at the Corner Hotel and played multiple supports for Tex Perkins and the Dark Horses. A reporter after a gig at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory wrote: "Tim Woodz is the kind of person your Mum or Dad would describe most fittingly as a 'duffer'... but Woodz' charm played a big part in the audience warming up to him. He was all grins and silly anecdotes, putting the crowd at ease and holding court over a few tall tales."
